A tank is the refillable glass-and-steel section that sits on top of a mod, holding e-liquid and a replaceable coil. Where a pod is sealed and disposable, a tank is designed to be taken apart, cleaned and kept for years.

MTL or sub-ohm?

Mouth-to-lung tanks run coils above 0.8 ohm with restricted airflow and suit nicotine salt or higher-strength freebase. Sub-ohm tanks run below 0.6 ohm with open airflow, produce large clouds, and need low-strength freebase at 3mg or 6mg only.

Looking after a tank

Prime every new coil — fill it and wait ten minutes before the first draw. Rinse the glass with warm water when you change flavours. Replace worn seals rather than over-tightening, which is the usual cause of leaking.

What e-liquid goes in a sub-ohm tank?

Low-strength freebase at 3mg or 6mg. Never high-strength nicotine salt — the vapour volume would deliver far too much nicotine.

Why is my tank leaking?

Usually a worn seal, an over-tightened coil, or the wrong liquid viscosity for the coil. Check the seal first.
