How to choose a coil

Resistance decides everything else

Above 0.8 ohm gives a tight mouth-to-lung draw, less vapour, and pairs with salt nicotine. Below 0.6 ohm runs hotter, makes far more vapour, empties liquid and battery faster, and pairs with low-strength freebase. Between the two, either works.

Stay inside the printed wattage range

Every coil carries a wattage range on its body. Below it the draw is weak and cool; above it the wick scorches and you get the burnt taste people usually blame on the liquid. Start at the bottom of the range and work up.

Cost per coil, not per pack

Packs here run three or five coils. A five-pack at AED 45 is AED 9 a coil; a three-pack at AED 60 is AED 20. Compare on the per-coil figure.

How long a coil lasts, and what shortens it

One to three weeks is the normal range. What moves it: sweetened e-liquids caramelise on the coil and can halve its life; running above the printed wattage scorches the wick in days; chain vaping dries the wick between puffs; and priming a new coil badly — not soaking the wick and not resting it for a few minutes before the first puff — kills it immediately. Electrical resistance. Lower resistance means more current, more heat and more vapour. Above 0.8 ohm is mouth-to-lung; below 0.6 ohm is sub-ohm.

Can I clean and reuse a coil?

Not usefully. Rinsing removes some residue but not the caramelised layer on the mesh, and a rinsed coil rarely tastes right again.
