How to choose an e-liquid in the UAE

Salt nicotine or freebase

Salt nicotine is smoother at high concentrations, which is why it is sold at 20mg and above and used in low-power pods. Freebase is harsher at the same concentration, so it is sold at 0mg to 6mg and used in sub-ohm devices that vaporise far more liquid per puff. Putting 50mg salt in a sub-ohm tank delivers many times the nicotine per puff the device was designed for; putting 3mg freebase in a tight MTL pod delivers almost none. VG/PG ratio and what it does

Vegetable glycerine carries vapour; propylene glycol carries flavour and throat hit, and is thinner so it wicks faster. A high-PG blend suits small pod coils and thin wicks. A high-VG blend suits sub-ohm coils with large wicking ports and will starve a small pod coil, which is what produces a burnt taste on the third puff.

Bottle size and cost per millilitre

The headline price is not the cost. Our 30ml salt bottles at AED 35 to AED 45 work out at AED 1.17 to AED 1.50 per ml. Our 120ml freebase bottles at AED 65 work out at AED 0.54 per ml — roughly a third of the price for the same liquid. If your device runs sub-ohm and you get through liquid, buy the large bottle.

Matching liquid to your device

Read the coil, not the box. Above 0.8 ohm, use salt nicotine. Below 0.6 ohm, use low-strength freebase. Between the two, either can work but salt at 20mg is the safer choice. If you are unsure what is in your device, the coil finder will tell you.

E-liquid prices in the UAE

Vaping products in the UAE carry excise tax at 100%, included in every price shown. From 1 September 2026 the Ministry of Finance applies a minimum excise price of AED 1 per millilitre to liquids used in electronic smoking devices, while the 100% rate itself is unchanged. What is actually in a bottle

Four things: vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, flavouring, and nicotine (or none, in a 0mg bottle). The VG/PG ratio decides how it wicks and how much vapour it makes. The flavouring is the smallest fraction by volume and the largest by cost. Sweetened liquids — dessert, custard, candy profiles — leave residue on the coil and shorten its life noticeably compared with a clean fruit or menthol. If your coils are dying in under a week, the liquid is usually the reason.

Vaping law and age rules in the UAE

E-liquids have been legally sold in the UAE since April 2019. The minimum age is 18 under Federal Law No. 15 of 2009 on Tobacco Control, verified at delivery. Liquids sold here must conform to the UAE’s mandatory regulation for electronic nicotine products, administered by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. Excise applies at 100%, and from 1 September 2026 a minimum excise price of AED 1 per millilitre applies to liquids used in electronic smoking devices.
