All three take nicotine salt, all three give a tight cigarette-like draw, and all three are genuinely good. If you are switching from cigarettes, none of them is a mistake.
The thing nobody tells you: spares
Reviews compare wattage, battery size and airflow. Almost none mention the thing you will actually deal with every fortnight for as long as you own the device: buying the right pod.
We counted the spare pod lines we stock for each family. The gap is not subtle.

That Caliburn number is not a criticism of the device. It is a consequence of Uwell releasing more models than anyone else. But it has a real cost: a Caliburn G pod will not fit a Caliburn A2. The G3, G3 Pro, G3 Eco, G3 Lite and GK3 share a 2.5ml cartridge, but the G3, G4 and G4 Mini use a different 3ml GPP cartridge. Owning a Caliburn G3 is not enough information to order a pod.
XROS sits at the other extreme, selling a cartridge labelled for the series. Whatever XROS you own, it very likely fits.

Uwell Caliburn
The Caliburn is the device most often handed to someone quitting cigarettes, and deservedly so. The draw is tight and convincing, the flavour is clean, and there is nothing to configure.
Its real strength is choice. We stock 35 Caliburn models, which is more than XROS and Xlim combined. Whatever shape, battery size or capacity you want, a Caliburn exists in it — the flat Koko bodies, the larger G4 Pro, the compact A-series.
Its weakness is the flip side of that. Eleven separate pod lines, generation-locked. Buy one, then note the exact model somewhere, because in three weeks you will need it.
Buy a Caliburn if: you want a specific form factor, you value a refined MTL draw above all else, or you like having options.
Vaporesso XROS
The XROS is the one we recommend most often to people buying a first refillable device, and the spares situation is a large part of why.
It is compact, draw-activated, refills from the side without mess, and the coils hold flavour noticeably longer than the category average. Each generation has refined battery life and airflow rather than reinventing the device, which is why the pod platform has stayed consistent.
Its real strength is that it is boring in the best sense. It works, the pods fit, and you stop thinking about it.
Its weakness is less adjustability. If you want to fine-tune your draw daily, XROS gives you less to play with than Xlim.
Buy an XROS if: this is your first refillable, or you simply want a device that disappears into the background.
OXVA Xlim
The Xlim is the enthusiast’s pick among the three, and the reason is airflow.
Most compact pod systems make you choose your draw style at purchase. The Xlim has adjustable airflow that works across a genuinely useful range. Close it down and you get a tight, cigarette-like MTL draw for nicotine salt. Open it up and the same device gives a restricted direct-lung draw with noticeably more vapour. You can change your mind daily.
Its real strength is that it grows with you. Start closed and on salt while you are switching, then open it up later if you want more vapour, without buying a second device.
Its weakness is the naming. Xlim Series, Xlim C, Xlim SS, Xlim XL, Xlim EZ, plus NEXLIM as a separate line. Read the suffix on your device before ordering, because they take different cartridges.
Buy an Xlim if: you want control over the draw, or you suspect your preferences will change.

There is no meaningful price difference between them. Xlim skews slightly higher at the top end, Caliburn has the widest spread because of the sheer number of models, but you are choosing on fit rather than budget.
