Which Voopoo Should You Buy? UAE Buying Guide

The best Voopoo for most people is an Argus. It sits in the middle of the range, takes the PnP coils that fit most of the rest of the lineup, and costs around AED 110–140. If you want a full mod instead, the Drag range is where to look.

Voopoo makes more overlapping models than almost any other brand, which is confusing at the shelf. This guide sorts them into four families and tells you which one you actually want, using live prices from our catalogue.

Whatever you pick, pair it with nicotine salt if the coil is above 0.8 ohm, or low-strength freebase if it is below 0.6 ohm. See nic salt vs freebase.

The PnP advantage

This is the genuine reason to choose Voopoo over a competitor, and it is not something you will see on the box.

Most Voopoo devices share the PnP coil platform. Coils push in and pull out rather than screwing in, and the same coil family fits across the Vinci, Drag and Argus ranges. Upgrade from a Vinci to an Argus, or from an Argus to a Drag S, and your existing coils very likely carry over.

Compare that with Uwell, where a Caliburn G pod will not fit a Caliburn A2, or SMOK, where Nord and RPM coils look identical and are not interchangeable. Voopoo is the one major brand where staying in-brand genuinely saves you money and hassle.

The PnP coils you will see: R2, TR1, VM1, VM3, VM4, VM5 and VM6. Higher-resistance PnP coils above 0.8 ohm suit a tight MTL draw and salt nicotine; the lower VM coils are sub-ohm and want freebase.

Argus — the sensible default

The Argus is the largest family Voopoo makes and the one most people should be looking at. It spans simple pods through to capable pod mods, so there is an Argus for almost every use case.

ModelAEDSuits
Argus G3 Mini90Cheapest entry, tight MTL, switching smokers
Argus Z / G2100Simple, compact, no settings to learn
Argus A / P1S / G2 Mini110Slightly more battery and capacity
Argus Z2 / Matrix / E40120–125Mid-range, better screens and battery
Argus P2 / G3 / Pro 2 / P1130–140The sweet spot — adjustable, capable, still simple
Argus 40W / Argus G145–150More power, larger body
Argus Pro 80W150Top of the range, sub-ohm capable

Buy an Argus if you want one device that will still suit you in a year. The mid-range models around AED 140 are where the value sits — enough adjustability to grow into, without the bulk of a Drag.

Drag — the mod family

Drag is where Voopoo built its reputation, and it is aimed at users who want wattage control, a proper screen and real battery life.

ModelAEDSuits
Drag Nano 2120Confusingly, the smallest device Voopoo makes — a tiny pod, not a mod
Drag S2 / S3 / X2 / X3 / X Pro / S Pro14060–80W pod mods, the practical Drags
Drag E60 / H40 / H80S150–170Higher power, larger format
Drag X 18650170Removable battery — swap instead of recharge
Drag 4 / Drag 5210–250Dual-battery, up to 177W. Enthusiast territory.

Worth knowing: the Drag Nano 2 is not a small mod, it is a small pod. If you want a compact device, it is a good choice. If you want a Drag because you want power, skip it and look at the S or X series.

Do not start here. A Drag mod running sub-ohm needs low-strength freebase, produces large clouds, and is the wrong first device for someone leaving cigarettes.

Vinci and Vmate

Vinci is the accessible refillable line — the Vinci 3 at AED 180 and the E80/E120 pod mods at AED 120–160. Simple, PnP-compatible, and a reasonable middle ground.

Vmate is the compact everyday range: Vmate i2 at AED 85 is the cheapest Voopoo device we stock, rising through the i3, E2, Max, Infinity and Pro 2 at AED 110–125. If you want small and cheap, start here rather than with a Drag Nano.

Which coil does your Voopoo take?

Four platforms, and knowing which one your device uses is most of the battle.

PlatformCoils / podsFitsAED
PnPR2, TR1, VM1, VM3–VM6Most Vinci, Drag and Argus models50
PnP XPnP X pods and pod coilsDevices using PnP X pods35–50
TPPDM1 to DM4TPP pod tanks, higher-power devices45–55
ITOITO mesh coilsITO and ITO X pods45–50

Pods are still device-specific even when the coils inside are shared. Argus, Vmate, Vinci and Drag Nano 2 all take their own cartridge at AED 35–45.

Real running costs in AED

From live catalogue prices:

  • Device: AED 85 (Vmate i2) to AED 250 (Drag 4). Most sit at AED 110–150.
  • PnP coils: AED 50 for a pack
  • Replacement pods: AED 35–45
  • Monthly: roughly AED 80–130 including e-liquid, depending on how quickly you get through coils

Budget around AED 200 for a complete Argus setup: device, a 30ml bottle of salt nicotine, and a spare pod. The PnP platform means that spend carries forward if you upgrade later, which is not true of most brands.

Frequently asked questions

Which Voopoo is best for beginners?

An Argus G3 Mini at AED 90 or an Argus Z at AED 100. Tight draw, nicotine salt, nothing to configure. Skip the Drag mods entirely at this stage.

Are Voopoo PnP coils interchangeable?

Largely yes, and that is the main reason to buy the brand. PnP coils span the Vinci, Drag and Argus ranges. Pods remain device-specific.

What is the difference between Argus and Drag?

Argus is the everyday pod-system family, simpler and cheaper. Drag is the mod family with wattage control and more power. Confusingly the Drag Nano 2 is a small pod rather than a mod.

Which Voopoo has the best battery life?

The dual-battery Drag 4 and Drag 5, then the Drag X 18650 where you can swap batteries. Among pods, the Argus 40W at 1500mAh and Vmate E2 at 1500mAh.

How much does a Voopoo cost in the UAE?

AED 85 to AED 250, with most models AED 110–150. Coils are AED 50 and pods AED 35–45.

What e-liquid should I use?

Check the coil resistance. Above 0.8 ohm, use nicotine salt at 20mg or 50mg. Below 0.6 ohm, use freebase at 3mg or 6mg.

The short version

Buy an Argus unless you have a specific reason not to. The mid-range models around AED 140 are the sweet spot, they take PnP coils that carry over if you upgrade, and they are simple enough for a first refillable while still having room to grow.
